Description
The Fasting Urine Glucose test measures glucose levels in urine after an 8-hour fast. It’s part of a comprehensive diabetes screening process. This test helps detect diabetes and assess kidney function, as glucose shouldn’t normally appear in urine. Positive results may indicate that blood glucose levels have exceeded the kidney’s reabsorption threshold. While useful, this test is often combined with blood glucose tests for more accurate diabetes diagnosis and management.
