Description

The Urine Glucose test detects the presence of glucose in urine samples. Normally, glucose is not found in urine as it’s reabsorbed by the kidneys. Its presence can indicate diabetes mellitus or kidney dysfunction. While less precise than blood tests, urine glucose screening is non-invasive and can be useful for initial diabetes screening or monitoring. However, positive results typically require follow-up with blood glucose tests for confirmation.
