Description
The EBV NA IgM Antibody by EIL SERUM test is a serological assay that detects IgM antibodies against Epstein-Barr virus nuclear antigens (EBNA) in serum samples. IgM antibodies are typically produced early in the course of an infection, making this test useful for diagnosing recent or active EBV infections. It’s particularly helpful in identifying acute infectious mononucleosis caused by EBV. The test uses enzyme immunoassay (EIA) or enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) techniques for antibody detection. Results from this test, often used in conjunction with other EBV-specific antibody tests, aid in determining the stage of EBV infection and guiding appropriate management.
