Description
This test measures the levels of Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) in the blood. DHEA is a hormone produced by the adrenal glands and is a precursor to male and female sex hormones. The test is important for assessing adrenal function and can be useful in diagnosing various endocrine disorders. Abnormal levels may indicate conditions such as adrenal insufficiency, adrenal tumors, or polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
