Description

This test checks for the presence of chyle in urine samples. Chyle is a milky fluid containing lymph and emulsified fats that is normally found in the lymphatic system. Its presence in urine (chyluria) indicates an abnormal connection between the lymphatic system and the urinary tract. This condition can be caused by parasitic infections, trauma, or certain congenital disorders affecting the lymphatic system. The test is crucial for diagnosing and monitoring conditions that cause chyluria, such as lymphatic filariasis or retroperitoneal lymphangiectasia.
