Description
C-ANCA (Cytoplasmic Antineutrophil Cytoplasmic Antibodies) is a blood test that detects specific antibodies associated with certain autoimmune disorders. This test is primarily used to diagnose and monitor conditions such as granulomatosis with polyangiitis (formerly known as Wegener’s granulomatosis) and other forms of vasculitis. C-ANCA helps in assessing the activity of these diseases and can guide treatment decisions. Regular monitoring of C-ANCA levels can also help predict relapses in affected patients.
