The Aspergillosis IGG test measures immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibodies produced in response to Aspergillus fungi infection. This test is primarily used to diagnose and monitor chronic pulmonary aspergillosis, a long-term Aspergillus infection of the lungs. Unlike the IgE test, which indicates an allergic response, the IgG test suggests an ongoing or past infection. Elevated levels of Aspergillus-specific IgG can indicate chronic aspergillosis, especially in patients with underlying lung diseases or compromised immune systems.
