Description
This test measures adenosine deaminase (ADA) levels in fluid extracted from ovarian cysts. It’s used to help differentiate between benign and malignant ovarian cysts, as well as to assist in diagnosing ovarian tuberculosis. Elevated ADA levels can suggest malignancy or tuberculosis infection. The test is particularly useful when conventional diagnostic methods are inconclusive or in areas with high tuberculosis prevalence. Results from this test, combined with other clinical and imaging findings, help guide treatment decisions and further diagnostic steps for ovarian pathologies.
