Description
This specialized imaging study uses a 3 Tesla MRI to examine the aorta without the use of contrast agents. It provides detailed images of the aortic structure, wall thickness, and any visible abnormalities. While it may not offer the same level of blood flow visualization as contrast-enhanced studies, it’s particularly useful for patients who cannot receive contrast due to allergies or kidney problems. This non-invasive procedure can detect aortic aneurysms, dissections, and other structural abnormalities. It’s valuable for initial screening, follow-up of known conditions, and in cases where contrast administration is contraindicated.
