Description

The Free Androgen Index (FAI) test measures the level of biologically active testosterone in the blood. It is calculated using the total testosterone and sex hormone-binding globulin (SHBG) levels. This test is particularly useful in diagnosing androgen-related disorders in both men and women. In women, it’s an important marker for polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
