Description
This specialized neuroimaging study uses a 3 Tesla MRI to produce detailed images of the brachial plexus, a complex network of nerves that control the muscles of the shoulder, arm, and hand. The high-field strength allows for excellent visualization of nerve roots, trunks, divisions, and cords. It’s particularly useful for diagnosing conditions such as nerve root avulsions, neurogenic tumors, and post-traumatic injuries to the brachial plexus. This non-invasive procedure plays a crucial role in treatment planning for various nerve-related disorders of the upper extremity, guiding surgical interventions when necessary.
